At Spanish Schoolhouse Pearland, we provide an immersive environment where preschool-aged children are surrounded by the Spanish language every day. This helps them learn Spanish faster by engaging them during their optimal years for language development. We give them the opportunity to acquire the Spanish language naturally while they learn and discover the world around them in a warm and loving environment. The children have fun while they participate in Latin American-themed classroom activities, conversation, music, dance, meals, and cultural traditions. They learn to respect and celebrate cultural diversity, and to treat others with kindness.
Our preschool curriculum, developed by a team of Texas-certified instructors, is based on the Texas Education Agency’s preschool TEKS. It is rich with multi-sensory experiences that encourage a love of learning while building foundational skills for educational success.
Areas of Focus

Students will explore, discover, analyze, and experience each area through hands-on activities.

- Math Skills – Counting skills, addition and subtraction, geometry/spatial sense, measurement, classification/patterns, graphing.
- Science Skills – Sorting/classifying, making observations and predictions, problem-solving, measuring and weighing, life cycles, solar system, conservation.

Preschool FAQs
What ages do you accept?
We accept children ages 18 months – 4 into our immersive preschool program. Classes and recess periods are separated by age. We also offer after-school Spanish instruction for children in kindergarten through 5th grade, and summer camps for children ages 3 – 8.
How do I enroll my child?
Each year, we hold an open registration period in early February for the upcoming school year. Many classes fill very quickly! Enrollment during the school year is possible on a space-available basis.
When you are ready to enroll, create a family profile here, add your student(s) to the account, and then click “Enroll” to select your program!
My child does not know any Spanish – won’t they be confused?
Our program is designed for English-speaking children to learn Spanish. However, we welcome and encourage children who already use the Spanish language (or any language!) in their homes to be a part of our school! To help children feel comfortable and confident, our teachers “act out” what they are saying and use visual materials as cues. The kids love this and love to join in.
How long will it take my child to begin speaking Spanish?
All children develop and learn at different rates. During the first year, the child builds a base of vocabulary, learns the patterns of the language, and understands 80-100% of the spoken language. He may begin using single words and short phrases and will likely sing the songs he has learned in school.
During the second year, children add vocabulary and begin to use the language naturally, responding and participating in class in Spanish. After two to three years of consistent exposure, they typically begin to think in Spanish without translation, communicate their thoughts, and carry on conversations in Spanish with a near-native accent
